Accreditation

According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education” accreditation of educational organizations is a procedure of acknowledgement by accreditation agency of correspondence of educational services to the established requirements and standards with a view to provide objective information about their quality and confirming existence of effective mechanisms of their improvement.

Objectives of accreditation:

- implementation of agreements on the EurAsEC and the CIS;

- protection of rights of citizens of Kazakhstan for education abroad and competitive ability in international labor market;

- integration of higher and postgraduate education of Kazakhstan into Bologna process;

- cooperation with international networks for education quality to exchange information and develop comparable criteria and procedures;

- education quality improvement;

- estimation of the education quality;

- promotion of mobility of students and teachers. 

According to the Clause 58 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education” accreditation is performed by accreditation agency on the basis of application of educational organization irrespective of departmental affiliation and pattern of ownership for a term of five years as institutional and specialized one:

- institutional accreditation is evaluation of activity of educational organization on qualitative presentation of study programs in accordance with claimed status;

- specialized accreditation is evaluation of quality of particular study programs realized by educational organization.

International accreditation on the part of Institution for accreditation, certification and quality assurance ACQUIN (Germany) is performed for the following study programs:

- “International Law” (bachelor degree);

- “International Law” (master degree);

- “International Relations” (bachelor degree);

- “International Relations” (master degree);

- “Political Science” (bachelor degree);

- “Political Science” (master degree);

- “Economics” (bachelor degree);

- “Economics” (master degree);

- “Management” (bachelor degree);

- “Management” (master degree).

International accreditation on the part of accreditation agency of Association of Engineering Education of Russia is held for the following study programs:

- “Automation and Management” (bachelor degree);

- “Automation and Management” (master degree);

- “Standardization, Metrology and Certification” (bachelor degree);

- “Standardization, Metrology and Certification” (master degree);

- “Transport Management, Engineering and Operation” (bachelor degree);

- “Transport Management, Engineering and Operation” (master degree).

At the L.N. Gumilyov ENU there has been successfully performed accreditation on the part of the Ministry of Education of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The given accreditation, first of all, will allow students and teaching staff of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU undergo training and internship in state higher education institutions of Jordan free of charge (Jordan and Middle East Universities). Also the given accreditation promotes image of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU and contributes to expansion of contacts of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU with the other universities of Jordan and with the universities of Arabian world as a whole.
