I hurry to share with you the impressions about last summer experience. Infinite viewings of photos, communication with new friends, processing of all received new and interesting knowledge and skills let's forget about those magic two weeks which I carried out in Austria. During training within the exchange program Erasmus Mundus in the city of Brno (Czech Republic) at Masarik's university I received magnificent possibility to take part in such action, as «International Summer School on Americas. GUSS 2011». The school passed in the city Leibniz.
Leibniz - the small city in Austria, being not so far from border of Slovenia, surrounded from all directions hills, fine vineyards and the lake. In an environment of such royal nature, two weeks we lived in the real European lock of the XII century which serves now as a venue of various seminars, conferences and congresses. The school was organized according to the Erasmus IP project with network support Utrecht and Gratsky university of Charles and Franz, being in the city of Graz (Austria).
Before arrival to school I with big hope waited for the beginning of occupations. What it was still possible to expect from two weeks of intensive lectures, seminars and a big training material? I chose a course «Stability of development» which very much helped me at understanding both social and political distinctions between North and South America. The various points of view of students and professors from Europe, America, South Africa, China and Kazakhstan, possibility to hear different opinions, an unforgettable cultural exchange which not only expands your visions of the abroad, but also provides you new friends who have similar interests - the interamerican researches. All this was for us a wide experience.
Presentations, the lectures, the provided materials for practical work in group - everything was a natural source of scientific discussion. I also liked free, but during too time an intensive approach to style of training. Lectures were read in a quiet situation for training, a flexible approach of teachers in an explanation to students of difficult questions for understanding. Intensive nature of training gave the chance to master all material in only two weeks. Communication with students from all over the world did this process even more interesting.
The summer school on americanistic was a platform for development of the interdisciplinary analysis of new conceptual approaches for deeper understanding of Americans at the time of universal globalization. We studied policy, history, the right, literature, cinematography and culture of America.
Interdisciplinary plenary sessions in the morning, separate seminars in the second half of day and viewings of films directing at reflections in the evenings - the Summer school was inspiring experience for everyone. More often our discussions didn't stop and after lessons, in quieter situation in a quiet corner of the lock.
As it would be desirable to estimate GUSS 2011 faculty, many thanks for their professional organization of school.
For me GUSS 2011 became a wide experience which I with pleasure want to recommend you.
