Institute of additional education and professional development was founded on 9th of April in 2009 by the order (№117) of the chancellor of the L. N. Gumilyev ENU doctor of laws and Professor Abdraim B. Zh.
The Institute offers following educational activities:
- Development and realization of innovative multilevel programs of additional education
- Assignment of additional educational services for different groups of population
- Foundation of structural cooperation with other entities of market
- Participation in contests (grants), directed to the professional development and professional retraining of pedagogical personnel.
Aim of the Institute is professional retraining and additional courses which are realized in following aims:
- Expansion of the qualification of experts
- Adaptation to the new economical and social conditions
- Application of the essential professions on the market with taking into account international requests and standards

Specialist takes an additional qualification on the basis of the received specialty at the end of professional retraining.
Professional retraining for taking additional qualification and specialty is carried out within the bounds of in demanding educational programs.

- Professional development and retraining of the personnel of institutions of higher educations
- Assignment of additional and professional education
- Organization of the language courses (Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages)
- Preparation of highschool graduates (university entrants) for the UNT to enter the university
- Preparation of the high school graduates for the complex testing
- Organization of computer courses
- Organization of the construction and modeling of clothes courses, design of clothes courses and planning design courses.
- Organization of the HR and PR managers preparation courses
- Execution of the business plan creation courses
- Preparatory courses of the Kazakh language for the people who want to pass “Kaztest”
- Preparatory courses of the IELTS, TOEFL and etc.

Admission requirements:

Admission requirements and training of foreign citizens
The Institute of additional education and professional development ENU named after L.N.Gumilyov admit foreign citizens. The Institute organizes special courses of learning Kazakh, Russian, languages for foreign citizens. Foreign students are trained on contractual paid basis at the Institute. We have short-term courses (3,5 months or 1 term) and long-term courses (7 months or 2 terms) of learning language. Interested applicants may write the letter addressed ti rector ENU named after L.N.Gumilyov about their wish to study. Residing cost is 60 000 tenges or 400 US dollars a months.
