About department

The department of Information Systems was founded in 2006/07 academic year on the base of Mathematics and Information Technology faculty in need of the support of scientific and methodical training of specialties, engaged in study, and methods of creation of information systems for various social spheres (economy, education, science etc.) in local and global computer networks.

The students specializing on department of information systems, receive deep theoretical knowledge and skills for decision of practical tasks, know several programming languages. The members of the State examination commission annually marked a high level of the student’s graduation papers of this department. The students are engaged in scientific researches, regularly participate in a traditional scientific conferences for young scientists and have an opportunity to publish results of the investigations in the proceedings of these conferences.

Bases for practices of department students are known Kazakhstan establishments: ICC ENU, Kazakhstan department of MSU named after M.M. Lomonosov, National center of state standards of education and testing, Ministry of Finances, Count committee, Information connections agency , CRI KCIT, Kaz.NIIT, NIIEITT, Kaz Munai gas, State purchase agency, Ministry of education of RK.

The best graduates of department then continue the education onMaster’s program and PhD one.

Final year students of Information systems specialty are called for employers. The department of Information Systemspreparespecialties 050703- information systems /bachelor / and 6N0703- / information systems/master. Also, the department realizes the admittance of PhD’s on specialty -- «05.13.00-Informatics, computing devices and management ». The preparation of specialists realizes in according with educational common state standard in Russian and Kazakh languages.

Qualitative description of the specialty “050703 – Information systems”

A graduate of the specialty “050703 – Information systems” is awarded an academic degree of the bachelor of information systems, who can hold the following positions:

- a specialist of the highest degree of qualification without a category;

- a specialist of the highest degree of qualification of the second category;

- a specialist of the highest degree of qualification of the third category.

The objects of professional work of a graduate of the bachelor degree are: companies and organizations of different forms of privacy, developing, introducing and maintaining information systems in the different areas of human activity such as:

- designing;

- maintaining;

- managing;

- support;

- testing;

- providing application and hardware security.

The duration of the program (grant and contract based) is 4 years. The form of study is full-time.

Master’s program “6N0703 – Information systems”

A graduate of the master’s program “6N0703 – Information systems” is awarded an academic degree of the “master of technique and technologies”. There are two directions in the master’s program – the science and research and the profile.

The objects of professional work of a graduate of the master’s program are:

in the profile direction:

- State bodies;

- industrial companies;

- financial companies and others.

in the science and research direction:

- scientific-research institutions;

- State bodies;

- educational institutions;

- the design organizations;

- industrial companies and others.

A graduate of the master’s program “6N0703 – Information systems” can hold the following positions:

in the profile direction:

- an engineer;

- an engineer-programmer (programmer);

- a system engineer (a network administrator);

- an engineer of the automated control systems and other positions according to his/her qualification

in the science and research direction:

- an engineer;

- an engineer-programmer (programmer);

- a system engineer (a network administrator);

- a specialist of the highest degree of qualification of the highest category;

- a researcher;

- an instructor (teacher) of the universities and colleges.

Scientific activity.

The members of the department are engaged in scientific researches. The scientific activity of sub faculty is carried out on many directions, basic of which, are:

1. Statistical modeling and forecasting (supervisor A.A. Adamov.);

2. Formalization of grammar of the Kazakh language (supervisor A.A. Sharipbaev);

3. Technology of designing and programming of the mongering and training information systems; the theory and practice of computing and telecommunication networks (supervisor S.N.Boranbaev).

4. Identification of the person by features of management of the manipulator. (Supervisor Reefa V.N.)

The scientific seminar “Modern problems of information systems“ actives on the sub faculty. On one basic results of the graduate works of the students and dissertations of graduate of the master’s and doctorate’s program are presented.
