Department of Foreign Languages

The Department of Foreign Languages is a service department and carries out teaching on the following specialties; 050202 – International relations, 050502 – Political science and 050505 – Study of regions. Teaching staff of the Department conducts teaching of five foreign languages, which are English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. In the academic year 2009-2010 the staff numbers 18 members (14.75 regular) lecturers, among them one PhD –  Esengaliyeva, A.M, one PhD –  Savenkova N. nine senior lecturers without academic degree; one Masters of pedagogies and one Master of English philology. There are also five lecturers including four foreigners; lecturer from Italy – Rosa Bianca Fadda, E. Kanetto from Italy, Perez Nacho Arjon from Spain, S. Scott from the USA. The academic degree level of the teaching staff of the Department counts by 9%. Average age of the staff is 45 years.

The Department carries on a constant work on training specialists and advancing qualification of lecturers. As a result of which treaties of international cooperation are concluded. For instance, The Department of foreign languages constantly and productively collaborates with The Embassy of Italy and French Alliance since 2006.         Since 2007 the Department keeps friendly relationships with the Consortium of partnership. The Department has academic and cultural relations with British Council; Embassies of the USA, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and also with foreign publishers such as Macmillan and Global Education.

Developing perspectives:

1.     Preparing lecturers on Masters and PhD degrees in Kazakhstan;

2.     Probation and learning in foreign Universities;

3.     Teaching trainings (international protocol, preparing and making tests, using technical aids and interactive methodic);

4.     Expansion of additional self-learning programs (crash courses of critical reading, public speaking, academic writing);

5.     Programs of experience exchange with similar Universities and Faculties from foreign countries.
