Summer School of International Relations Faculty

20-26 June, 2011 International Relations Faculty of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University will holds the Summer School "Actual Problems of International Relations".

In the Summer School will be attended by foreign scientists such as the professor of Columbia University (USA) R. Abazov, Professor of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia) V.A. Melyantsev, PhD of Hacettepe University (Turkey) A. Somundzhuoglu, the professor of Ege University (Turkey) G. Gulsevin, PhD of Uludag University (Turkey) M. Alieva Esen, PhD, professor of M. Sinan Fine Arts University (Turkey) A. Tashagyl, d.h.s., Professor of N.F. Katanov Khakassia State University (Russia) V.Y. Butanayev, PhD, professor of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (Kyrgyzstan) K. Konkobaev and A. Atyiiya (Ain Shams University, Egypt).

The work of the Summer School will be held in two sections:
Section 1: Modernization of the modern system of the international relations;
Section 2: Integration of the Turkic world in the new geopolitical conditions.

As part of the Summer School will be holding the lectures of the foreign and Kazakhstan scientists, round table discussions, seminars, workshops, etc.

At the end of the Summer School the most active participants will receive certificates.

Information for Masters

The following terms to pass documents were determined:

- Accounts, approved lists of publications and copies of publications - June, 18 – 11.00-14.00.

- Conclusion of experts, internal review, minutes of the Department meeting - June, 25 – 11.00-14.00.

- Review of scientific adviser, review of external examiner, tasks’ list, the thesis (in duplicate), copy of thesis on CD-disk, summary - June, 30 – 12.00-16.00.

- Documents of external examiner, graduation list and master’s card – not later, than at the day of presentation.

Dear graduates of "International Relations" Bachelor program!

Please, consider the deadline of submitting the finished degree work, the reference of scientific adviser and referee's resume! The Kazakh course should submit their degree work on the 30th of May 2011, the Russian course is due to the 3rd of June 2011. The submission of the degree works will start at 3 pm at the Department of International Relations.

The round table devoted to the chairmanship of the Republic Kazakhstan in Organization of the Islamic Conference

On March, 4th 2011 the department of the international relations of Faculty of the international relations carries a round table devoted to the chairmanship of the Republic Kazakhstan in Organization of the Islamic Conference. Chairmanship the Republic of Kazakhstan in ОIC is a tremendous success of Kazakhstan in a world policy. It is necessary to note that acceptance of such decision is display of high trust to the President of the RK N.A.Nazarbaev. Chairmanship in OIC brings to Kazakhstan the contribution to dialogue development between the West and the East.

On a round table it is planned to consider the following questions:

1) the history of ОIC

2) the program of the chairmanship of the RK in ОIC

3) a role of Kazakhstan in relations between ОIC and OSCE

4) a role of Islamic bank of development in economic development of the countries-participants ОIC

5) role of the OIC in the decision of problems of the international safety

6) prospects of development the RK with member countries of the ОIC

Students of the department of the international relations are involved in participation in a round table. The invited guest is Saulekul Sajlaukyzy, the candidate of historical sciences, the head of department of Asian cooperation of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. 

The Conference will be held at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and is dedicated to 20^th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Section 6. International relations. Subsections: International relations and regional studies. Oriental studies and Turkic studies. Linguistics and area studies.

Section 7. Philology. Subsections: Kazakh linguistics. Russian and comparative linguistics. Literature. Foreign philology.

Section 8. Journalism and political studies .Subsections: Journalism. Politics.

Working languages - Kazakh, Russian and English.

Participation is free. An electronic book is planned to release, conference materials will be published on the Web

European Information Center is going to host the course of lectures given by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan - Mohammad Akhtar Tufail. Information on enrollment can be available by tel.: 3724 29. Course of lectures starts on 15^th February. Upon completion of lectures, the participants will be awarded with certificates.

Selection on the competition “KYZ ZHІBEK – 2011”

3 February at 15.00 in aud. 228 will be held the selection among students of Faculty of International Relations at the competition "KYZ ZHIBEK - 2011".

International TURKIC SIMPOSIUM

On the 28-29 of April, 2011 on the Faculty of International Relations of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University will take place International Turkic Simposium: “Turkic world: Commonality of sources, history, language and culture”.

The aim and mission of the symposium:

· Unification of home and foreign Turkic researches in conditions of integration, political, economical, cultural interaction of Turkic language speaking countries;

· Discussion of actual problems and prospects of Turcology development;

· Creation of Turkic researches’ association as coordinating structure of social, scientific and professional activity of Eurasian Space turcologists.

Work on the next directions is expected on the symposium:

1. Turkic world: history and the present time.

2. Language and culture of Turkic world.

3. Historical-ethnographical problems.

4. Turkic written monuments (Orkhon, Yenisei, Talass, Armenian-Kypchak and others).

Attention! Dear students of the 3^rd course of the speciality "International relations"!

We lead up to attention that from June, 6th till June, 18th, 2011 you will pass an educational-introducing practice.

It is necessary for you to conclude tripartite agreements with the organizations – places of your practice.

If the organization doesn’t conclude agreements it is necessary to take the petition from the heads of the given organization, affirming the agreement to apply you for the practice. Electronic variants of tripartite contracts and petitions should be taken from the head of practice G.Y.Ibragymova or from your group monitors.

The deadline of handing contracts and petitions in – on April, 15^th, 2011.

Students who have no opportunity independently to find places for practice, will be distributed to places of bases of the university.
