At the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (Head of the Department Ye.A. Zhuravleva) there was a round table “Preservation and Development of the Language through Song Creation”. It was attended by the Representative of the Polish Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Stashkevich, vice president of the Public Association “Polska Jedność” R. Dusumov, Polish singer, Master of Arts Hensa Anna Katazhina, Head of the Pavlodar Regional Society of Poles M.E. Ershova, Head of the Polish Society in the Astrakhan district of the Akmola region R.I. Snegurskaya, teacher of Polish D.Zatorski, artists of the completed Anna Hermann Song Festival and teachers of the department.
The purpose of the round table is to preserve the cultural heritage of the peoples of multi-ethnic Kazakhstan society in the framework of the “Rouhani Zhangyru” program .The issues of the influence of song creativity on the process of learning the language and preservation of culture were discussed. Young artists, winners of the republican Anna Hermann song contest who came to Astana from different cities of Kazakhstan, took an active part in the discussion. All of them were awarded at the past on the basis of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, November 17 gala concert.
The gala concert was the final stage of the Anna Hermann Republican Song Festival, organized by the public association “Polska Jedność” of Astana (Vice President R.Dusumov) together with the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (Head of the Department Ye.A. Zhuravleva) and the Center of the Polish Language and Culture with the support of the Foundation "Help the Poles in the East."
The concert featured the most famous and well-loved songs from the repertoire of Anna Herman in Polish, Russian, Kazakh, Italian and English. The finalists of the song contest from Astana, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Turkestan and Akmola region, performed them. Students of ENU Shakhista Octanova (1 course of the specialty "Russian Language and Literature") and Aslan Mukhametkaliyev (1 course of the specialty "Information Security Systems") also took part in it. Before the performance, all participants attended master classes from the Master of Arts and Polish vocalist Katarzyna Hensa. The concert featured 17 musical compositions reflecting one or another facet of the work of the Soviet and Polish singer Anna Herman. The performance of each participant or group was evaluated in terms of the full disclosure of the image of the musical work, the expressiveness of the performance and musical taste of the participant, vocal and intonation skills.
According to the results of the competition, the winners were awarded commemorative statues and diplomas of the Grand Prix, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The grand prix of the festival was won by the ALMAS duet, which conquered the entire hall with two songs: “Burn, Burn, my Star” in Russian and “Daj mi tᶒczᶒ na niedzielᶒ” in Polish.
In addition, the representative of the Embassy, A. Stashkevich, presented special prizes to the groups of folk songs that performed musical compositions in Polish.
More than 800 listeners came to the concert; they did not let the artists leave the stage for a long time. Everyone received great satisfaction from the concert and expressed wishes for such events to be held more often.
The organizers plan to make this event a traditional one.
