It was about the current situation of actualization and implementation of the project results. Today, ENU has 12 CBHE projects, and in 2018 for the first time became a grant holder for the opening of the “Jean Monnet: European Diplomacy” department. It should be noted that ENU is the only university in Kazakhstan where the Jean Monnet department operates.
In general, 7 departments take part in the implementation of the projects: the Faculty of Information Technologies, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Physics and Technology, the Faculty of Economics, the Transport and Energy Faculty, the Faculty of International Relations, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, and two departments: the Department of International Cooperation and the Department on academic issues.
During the meeting, questions about the results of the project implementation were discussed, for example, according to the results of the DOCMEN project “Developing a two-tier innovation program in microelectronic engineering” in 2018-2019, the educational programs of the bachelor’s program “Space Microelectronics” and the master’s program “Microelectronic Engineering in Space Engineering ".
According to the APPLE project “Applied programs in space exploration and intelligent robotic systems”, new disciplines have been introduced into the educational programs for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Under the CLASS project “Development of an interdisciplinary master's program in computational linguistics at universities in Central Asia”, the educational master’s program “Computational Linguistics” will start from 2019–2020 academic year. This year, the department is faced with the task of attracting applicants to this program. According to the DOCMEN program “Development of a two-tier innovation program in microelectronic engineering”.
Development of advanced training courses is also one of the tasks of number of projects (TREASUREWATER, STEM, SMARTCITY, etc.). For example, trainers of the TREASUREWATER project “Trans-regional environmental awareness for sustainable use of water resources” conducted refresher courses for employees of the water sector of the economy.
In order to ensure sustainability of results, a number of projects provide for opening WELCOME centers “Opening up to meet international university communities”, HiEdTec “Modernizing higher education in Central Asia through new technologies”, LMPI “Bachelor’s and Master’s programs for developing, administering, managing and protecting computer networks at the enterprises ”and others. Today, the WELCOME center is successfully functioning, which has become a popular place for foreign students and professors, where they can spend their free time, communicate, organize events, acquaint themselves with their culture, traditions, etc.
Another center is planned to open within the framework of the HiEdTec structural project. The objectives of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies are the dissemination of experience and best practices in the field of innovative educational technologies and didactic models. The functioning of this center is relevant in the light of the implementation of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan".
We continue to work on the successful implementation of projects and are awaiting the results of the 2019 applications.
