Prof. Rashmi Doraiswamy from Jamila Milia Islamia University, New Delhi, India visited the Eurasian National University and had meeting with Akbota Zholdasbekova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Innovations and Dr. Punit Gaur, Director of the Centre of G-Global and the Great Silk Road Project Development and discussed the future cooperation between the two sides.
Akbota Zholdasbekova described that how much Eurasian National University achieved a lot in Academic as well as in research in a very short span of time.
Akbota Zholdasbekova also helped Prof. Rashmi to take a tour of the University’s Museum and explained her about the History of the Kazakhs and discussed various aspects of the historical relations between Kazakhstan and India especially in the context of integrated Eurasia.
Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. By a Special Act of the Parliament, Jamia Millia Islamia was made a central university of India in December 1988. In the list of the Faculties, i.e. Education, Humanities & Languages, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering & Technology, one more Faculty - Faculty of Law, was added in 1989. Many new courses and programmes at UG and PG levels have since been added. Besides its nine faculties, the Jamia has a number of centers of learning and research, like AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), Academy of International Studies etc. The Jamia is also marching ahead in the field of Information Technology (IT). It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate IT courses. Apart from this, the Jamia has a campus-wide network which connects a large number of its departments and offices.
Prof. Rashmi Doraiswamy also visited the G-Global Centre at the University Dr. Punit Gaur; Director of the Centre gave a comprehensive introduction about the Centre. He told that the “Centre for G-Global and the Great Silk Road Projects Development” is based on the initiatives taken by the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on 15th December 2011. G-Global is a platform to create the environment for the global professional community for interactive and open public discussions/debates on various global concerns like the nuclear-free world, promotion of global security, Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian space, expansion of cultures and civilizations dialogue, implementation of global energy and environmental development concepts and many others. They also discussed to organize an online conference on any of the above mentioned global issues.
