The Republican Youth Forum “Бірлік.kz”, organized by the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Youth Congress is held in Astana on February 23-24. The first day of the Forum is taking place at Eurasian National University today, the work will be continued at the Presidential Center of Culture on February 24.
The participants of the Forum are representatives of the committees on youth affairs and Vice-Rector for educational work of universities of the country, leaders and activists of youth organizations, representatives of regional departments of religious affairs, management of domestic policy, the deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, prominent public and cultural figures of Kazakhstan.
Today the Republican Youth Forum “Бірлік.kz” discusses new approaches and mechanisms to develop and promote tolerant society, prospects and methods of formation of the Kazakhstan patriotism, intellectual nation as a factor of competitiveness of Kazakhstan.
Participants believe that the Forum will help to transform our weaknesses to strengths.
One of the workshops is devoted to the development of the Kazakhstan patriotism so that “... patriotism should not be formal, and every citizen should be a Patriot”. According to participants, there are a lot of shortcomings in the educational process. “Patriotism is very comprehensive. It includes the family, moral, spiritual and religious values”, says one of the creators of the work plan on patriotic education of citizens of Kazakhstan. Among the various activities, reflected in this document, are a variety of conferences, round tables and competitions, Olympiads on knowledge of the history of Kazakhstan and State symbols, the famous personalities who have made a significant contribution to the development of our country in its different periods, military sports games, exhibitions, concerts, opening of Philharmonics, creating movies and various TV shows aimed at the patriotic education of young people.
“It is necessary yo work in a more focused manner, - commented Shakhmardan Baimanov, Coordinator of the Republican Youth Forum “Бірлік.kz”. - Now the most important factors are television and the Internet. According to him, our television stations should create their own TV shows (including – for the youngest viewers) that will inculcate a sense of patriotism to his country. Shakhmardan gave an example: in Russia Entertainment TV channels have a “cover” for younger audiences, which has a hidden ideology. And the Kazakhstani TV channels broadcast Turkish TV series, and as a result the audience is more aware about Turkish actors than the Kazakhstani ones.
According to the speaker, journalists should be the agents of patriotism, love for one's country. “Journalists are our eyes in the world. They are not just guides, but also advocates of patriotic education”, they say.
The question on citizen journalism, where anybody can write posts on absolutely any topic in social networks or on their website, was also raised at the Forum. This civil journalism is faster in many ways than today's newspapers: the journalist needs time to write and the item publication is also time-consuming ... By the way, an interesting fact was given at the Forum: according to the number of users of social networks, Twitter, Facebook and “agent”, Kazakhstan is ranked second among CIS countries. The Forum participants think that social networking will be useful for instilling patriotism.
“Ask not “What do my homeland can give?”, but “What can I give to my homeland?”- today the participants of the National Youth Forum “Бірлік.kz” say this way.
Proposals to a model comprehensive plan on enhancing the educational component of the learning process in all educational institutions and Address to the youth will be prepared at the plenary meeting of the Forum, which will take place tomorrow, 24 February, at the Presidential Center of Culture.
According to the organizers of the Republican Youth Forum “Бірлік.kz”, the aim of this event is to bring together young people for consolidation and intercultural dialogue among young people.
