ENU hosted "Nauryz Aitys"
On the eve of the Nauryz holiday, the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the Eurasian National University and the Organization of Young Poets "Topzhargan" held a creative competition among the youth of the capital called "Nauryz Aitys".
The event was held in the ENU building. 10 best poets from higher educational institutions and schools of the capital competed on the stage.
"Nauryz is a true holiday of the Kazakh people. This event was organized on the eve of the holiday in order to popularize the Kazakh language among young people," Vice-Rector for Science, Commercialization and Internationalization Zhanna Kurmangalieva mentioned in her welcoming speech.
Aitys was conducted by the famous poet, head of the ENU Television, Radio Broadcasting and Public Relations Department Serikzat Duisengazy.

The jury included scientists, aitysker-poets and journalists. The competition also noted the versatile knowledge of young poets, ingenuity, disclosure of the topic, culture of behavior on stage, speech production and other qualities.
Abylai Kairatuly and Nauat Zhakatayeva, students of Lyceum Schools No. 76 and No.86 in Astana, were the first to take the stage followed by KazNUI student Nurtleu Tolenbek and the student of Yerementau Secondary School Sattibek Serikbolatuly. The third pair of poets was represented by Nartai Tleukul and Syrym Adilbek. The fourth were two 4th year students Abzal Makash and Bekzat Kulshar, who became favorites of the university, showed their skills. Yersultan Aushanov, a KazNUI student, and Tamasha Rakatkyzy, an ENU student were the last in the ceremony and received special attention from the public.
Summing up the results of the performance, which took place at a high level, the organizers came to the conclusion that it is necessary to constantly look for new ways to popularize Kazakh values among young people and continue to shape the modern look of aitys, without violating the tone of the original art.
At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science Kairat Sak presented diplomas and memorable gifts to the participating poets.
