Student of Eurasian National University Sofya Zakutnaya became the champion of Kazakhstan in swimming among surdo athletes
From April 5th to 9th, a landmark sports event took place in Pavlodar - the Republic of Kazakhstan swimming championship among athletes with hearing impairments. The competition brought together more than 100 participants from various regions of the country, including Aktobe, Abay, Zhetysu, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Kostanay, Atyrau and Zhambyl regions, as well as representatives from the cities of Almaty, Astana and Shymkent.
Student of L.N. Gumilyov ENU Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports (FKS-22) Sofya Zakutnaya, demonstrated excellent sports skills and perseverance in the fight for prizes at this prestigious tournament. Over the course of four days, she competed in heats of various distances, winning two gold medals in the 200-meter butterfly and 800-meter freestyle events. In addition, Sofia competed in the 400-meter freestyle, winning a silver medal.
These well-deserved victories demonstrate not only the high level of training of the athletes at the university, but also their dedication and passion for the sport, inspiring others to reach the top in their sporting endeavours.
