On the role of Kanysh Satpayev in the development of science in Kazakhstan
The National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a Scientific and Educational Round Table "The role of K. Satpayev in the Development of Science in KAZAKHSTAN", dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of academician, public and statesman Kanysh Satpayev.
The work of the round table began with an introduction to the exhibition "The Founder of the Kazakh Science", which presents rare manuscripts and works collected by the scientist, and watching a video about geologist Kanysh Satpayev.
The video shows Kanysh Satpayev, an outstanding geologist and scientist who presented the Kazakh underground wealth to the whole world. Since 1926, Kanysh Satpayev has studied the Zhezkazgan, Karsakbai, Ulytau, Torgai, Atbasar and Yesil deposits. All elements of chemistry can be found in the minerals he found. K.I. Satpayev founded the Kazakh Academy of Sciences, as well as the Institute of Geology. He was not only a geologist, scientist, but also a writer, historian and mathematician, the first Kazakh academician.
The round table was moderated by the Professor of ENU History Faculty Zadash Dukenbayeva.
Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Altynbek Nukhuly, Chairman of the Committee on Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustam Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rollan Kuspan participated in its work.
Director of the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books Zhandos Boldykov, ENU Professor Kulzira Iskakova, orientalist Mukhamedkali Baimukhanov, researchers of the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books, professors of the A.K. Kussainov Eurasian Humanitarian Institute Samat Iskaliyev and the A. Margulan Pavlodar Pedagogical University Gulfira Utepova, as well as students and undergraduates of the History of Kazakhstan Department, ENU Faculty of History, Raiyana Kenzhebekkyzy, Akber Kuanysh and Islam Kaldar actively participated in the discussion of the topic.
