Book Week "Kıtap – bılım būlağy"
From April 15 to April 22, the scientific library of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted Book Week "Кітап – білім бұлағы," dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day.
During the week, literary-poetic evenings, educational events, intellectual games, quests, meetings with poets, TV journalists, musicians, and prominent figures were organized.
The week began with an online virtual tour of the Bayanaul Memorial Museum of Kanish Satpayev, organized by the department for the organization and storage of electronic resources together with the museum methodologist Gauhar Balabaeva.
As part of the "One Country - One Book" campaign, an educational evening "Балалар әдебиетінің бәйтерегі" was held, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of B. Sokpakbayev.
The biographical evening "Тектілікті ту еткен ғалым," dedicated to the Soviet scientist-geologist, organizer of science and public figure, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR and the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and the first president of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR Kanish Satpayev, was prepared by the information and bibliographic department.
University scholars Serik Negimov and Tlegen Sadykov detailed the life and work of the academician.
Members of the "Booken club" met with writer Imangazy Nurakhmetuly and shared their thoughts and questions.
Aidos Esmagambetov, a hyperrealist sculptor creating realistic sculptures of famous people from Kazakhstan, talked about the art of sculpture and shared some secrets of his profession.
The meeting with Aidos Esmagambetov, a hyperrealist sculptor whose works impress with their realism, was interesting for the participants. His ability to capture details and express the character of each model makes his works particularly outstanding, able to convey the images and personalities of famous people from Kazakhstan for future generations.
"Ән кемеңгері - Кенен Әзірбаев" - an evening filled with admiration and inspiration. Memories from the poet and musician's son Bakytzhan Kenenuly, daughter-in-law Bakytzhan Saginbekkyzy, and grandson Mukhtar were valuable and touching. Erbolat Shaldybekov and Erzhan Maxim contributed their talents by performing his songs, leaving an unforgettable impression on all attendees, who were immersed in the world of his creativity.
At the cultural-educational event "Қайым Мұхамедханов – ұлтқа қызмет" a book by his daughter Dina Mukhamedkhanova "Ұстаз бен шәкірт" was presented.
Specialists from the center for psychological support for students conducted a training "Білім жолындағы сабырлық: білім алушыларға арналған өзін-өзі реттеу әдістері".
To commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Ilyas Zhansugurov – a foundational figure in Kazakh literature, a writer, publicist, playwright, translator, composer, and journalist – the reader services department organized an event featuring his works "Құлагер" and "Күйші". It is important not only to recognize his magnificent legacy but also to continue studying his works to preserve his wisdom and inspiration for future generations. Zhansugurov's contributions to national literature and art are immense, and his works remain relevant and significant to the Kazakh people. His creations reflect Kazakh culture and traditions and inspire reflections on important aspects of human existence.
On April 22, the conclusion of Book Week continued with the "Biblionoche" event. The opening featured speeches by scientist Serik Negimov and opera singer Kenzhegali Myrzhikbay, an honored artist of Kazakhstan. The director of the scientific library, Bakytzhan Orazaliyev, congratulated the guests on the occasion and noted that by ending the book week, the best readers would be acknowledged with letters of appreciation.
The university orchestra "Dala Sazy" set the atmosphere with harmonious melodies, and students from the "Booken club" in historical figures’ attire opened the evening.
The "Living Book" format featured an encounter with Zhaniya Aubakirova, a People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, pianist, and accompanist. She shared her thoughts about her parents, her studies at the Moscow Conservatory, and winning a Grand Prix in a competition in France. She concluded by presenting several of her authored books as gifts to the library.
At the literary meeting "Осы бір сәт ұнайды," poetess Tolkyn Kabylsha, a member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, laureate of the International Creative Festival "Shabyt," and member of the Journalists' Union of Kazakhstan, recited her poetry to poetry-loving readers and gifted the library with audio collections of poems and a book.
The evening continued with the historical-enlightenment competition "Білгірлер алаңы," "If you are resourceful, try to be ahead!," the intellectual game "Literary Quiz," the quest "Exploring Book Labyrinths," the game "Book Dress Code," and a jazz evening.
In the library's first-floor hall, guests were treated to an art exhibition "Дәстүрлі қазақ өнері" by students from the department of design and engineering graphics of the architectural and construction faculty.
The evening concluded with a no-lose bibliolottery for all attendees, with prizes drawn.
