
Meeting with the DAAD Representative at the Department of Foreign Philology of ENU

Today, the Department of Foreign Philology at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University welcomed Dr. Gisela Zimmermann, Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Regional Office for Central Asia, on an official visit.
During the meeting, the Head of the Department of Foreign Philology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences D.Kh. Baidrakhmanov, greeted the guest and introduced the current state and prospects of German language instruction at the university. The discussion addressed the growing number of students interested in learning German, innovative approaches in teaching methodology, as well as initiatives to support the professional development of faculty members.
In addition, Dr. Zimmermann met with the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Candidate of Philological Sciences S.M. Duisengazy. The dialogue focused on the implementation of joint projects between the DAAD Regional Office and ENU’s Faculty of Philology, the enhancement of academic mobility for students and faculty, and the expansion of research and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
The distinguished guest continued her visit at the German-Kazakh Center, where she became acquainted with the Center’s activities, opportunities available to students, and various initiatives aimed at promoting the German language.
Dr. Gisela Zimmermann noted:
“For us, establishing partnerships with universities in Kazakhstan is of great importance. I believe that ENU students and faculty will benefit from new opportunities through academic mobility and collaborative research projects.”
Dean of the Faculty of Philology, S.M. Duisengazy, emphasized:
“Collaboration with DAAD not only strengthens the international partnerships of our faculty but also broadens the professional horizons of our students. This cooperation will undoubtedly bring mutual benefits.”
This meeting represents an important step in strengthening ENU’s international cooperation. It will further facilitate the university’s integration into the global academic and educational space and open new pathways for students to acquire knowledge at an international levelю There is strong confidence that the partnership between ENU’s Faculty of Philology and DAAD will serve as a foundation for new projects in the fields of education, science, and culture in the future.
