Summary: Lev Nikolaevich Gumilyov – the outstanding scientist and the thinker of the XX century. His works on stories of Eurasia, history of the Turkic and Slavic, Asian and European people develop interdisciplinary direction in a science which can be with good reason defined as "Eurasian studying" and which subject is the history of the countries, the people, cultures and languages of the Eurasian region. In this case L.N.Gumilyov not only Eurasian but also, first of all, the researcher-eurasist who has overcome a scientific side between oriental studies and a “Russian studying”, pulled together a turkology and Slavic philology.

Only three books which have been especially devoted to a course of life of the thinker are known: S.B.Lavrov «Lev Gumilyov. Destiny and ideas» (M, 2000), A.I.Chistobayev «The ethnologists who have outstripped time: to L.N.Gumilyov's 90 anniversary and K.P.Ivanov's 50 anniversary (to SPb. 2002) » and T.Frolovskaya «the Eurasian Lion» (Families, 2003). Therefore attempt of the full biography of L.N.Gumilyov meets difficulties when lighting both its human, and the scientific biography.
