From July 27-31, 2020 an international online -summer school "Modern trends in STEM education" was held.
The school was organized jointly with M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
Teachers of the Informatics Department, doctoral students, students of master degrees programmes and undergraduate students have been participated in the summer school.
Akhmetova Balgyn, PhD doctoral student of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Republic of Kazakhstan made a report about "Experience of STEM education in Kazakhstan".
B. Akhmetova detailed on activities for the development and promotion of STEM in Kazakhstan, namely actions aimed at developing the conceptual, methodological support of the STEM approach in education; actions aimed at the development of connections between various subjects and factors, their mutual strengthening, coordination; actions to organize wide access to STEM education, involve various groups in it, organize career guidance and actions for training, retraining and advanced training for teachers, school staff and educational institutions. She summarized at STEM education in Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan as an example.
Maxim Bondarev, PhD, Head of the. Department of Primary Education, Southern Federal University, Russian Federation presented his view on "Fundamentals of Robotics in STEM"
Polat Saidakhmet, the head of the department of "Physics” of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University shared his opinion about “Conducting a laboratory work in physics using on-line disposable resources».
Svetlana Konyushenko, professor of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University told about her experience on the topic "Cognitive technologies in training STEM teachers"

The hackathon was held for 2 days and 6 teams were taken part. One of the teams called Interactive NinySTEMuseum, where the expert was a senior teacher of the Department of computer Science of L. N. Gumilyov ENU Balgozhina G. B. with her participation, the team scored the highest score. Participants are employees of the University and partner Universities.
The participants of the summer school have been awarded certificates.
