On October 8, 2014, NATO Liaison Officer in Central Asia Alexander VINNIKOV and representative of NATO headquarters Tanya Hartman met with students of the Eurasian National University.
Alexander VINNIKOV delivered a speech on the subject of NATO's cooperation with partners in Central Asia and the outcome of the Wales summit.
In his report, the officer stopped at the history of NATO's relations with the countries of Central Asia and the basic areas of cooperation. He also narrated in detail about the program "Partnership for Peace" in the context of cooperation with Kazakhstan, which joined it in 1994.
Particular attention was paid to the situation in Afghanistan in the context of the development of relations of Afghanistan and NATO today.
The event was ended with an exchange of views between guests and students of the Eurasian National University through discussion and answering questions.
