On June 3, 2020, the British company Times Higher Education published the regular ratings Times Higher Education Asia University. According to the results of 2020, more than 500 universities from 30 Asian countries were included in this rating. Kazakhstan is the only representative of Central Asia by two universities L.N. Gumilyov ENU and Al-Farabi KazNU.
Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings was first published in 2013 and presents a list of universities in the region, compiled according to the results of the general rating criteria. The ranking list of the best institutions includes HEIs from the Asian continent, including Turkey and the Middle East.
Such indicators of university activity as educational activity, research activity, citation, income from commercialization, internationalization are used. ENU has improved its performance on “Internationalization”, and “Citation”. The best indicator of ENU, as well as last year, is the indicator “Internationalization”.
The top ten included 3 universities in China, 2 universities in Singapore, 3 universities in Hong Kong, 1 from Japan and 2 from South Korea.
The first place in the ranking is, as last year, Tsinghua University.
