Scientists of the Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Eurasian National University (director PhD Suleimen Ye.M., Associate Professor Iskakova Zh.B., Master of Science Sissengaliyeva G.G.) together with the Kazak University of Technology and Business (Associate Professors Iskakova Zh.B. and Zhalmahanbetova R.I.), Karaganda State University named after academician E.A. Buketov (Professor Ishmuratova M.Yu.) and S. Seifullin Kazak Agrotechnical University (PhD Ibatayev Zh.A.) from June 2 to 5, 2018 conducted an expedition to collect plants and mushrooms in the vicinity of the city Karkaraly of Karaganda region.
In total, during the expedition, 1 specie of a rarely studied plant of the family Lamiaceae and 5 species of mushrooms were collected.

Financing of the planned expedition was carried out within the framework of the received grant "The best teacher of the university-2017" of Associate Professor KazUTB, the leading researcher of the Institute of Applied Chemistry of the ENU named after LN. Gumilyov, Iskakova Zh.B.
The collected plant species are already in operation as part of the production practice of the 3rd year students of the ENU Chemistry Department.

It should be noted that the young Institute of applied chemistry, under the leadership of the candidate of chemical sciences, PhD Suleimen Yerlan Melsuly is an actively developing scientific center in the field of chemistry; it is equipped with modern equipments and has wide international connections. Based on the results of the work, the institute is the holder of the highest category for 2014-2015 among all scientific research institutes of the ENU, and the first - to the present.
At the moment, the Institute of Applied Chemistry has 2 holders of the title "Best University Teacher", 2 laureates of the Matsumae Foundation (Japan), 3 holders of the Erasmus Mundos grant, DAAD Foundation.
The founder of the Institute of Applied Chemistry (2011) - Suleimen Yerlan Melsuly - according to the NAAP agency, is a member of 50 rating scientists of Kazakstan with the highest indicators for 2014-2018, the Hirsch index - 10 (GoogleScolar), has over 280 publications, including 75 - in international journals with a high citation index (impact factor), 16 patents. Suleimen Ye.M. - Grant holder as a young talented scientist of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakstan for 2006-2008, 2008-2010 and 2010-2012, the DAAD Foundation (2008), the Matsumae Foundation (Japan) (2009), the Erasmus Mundos grant (2009), UNIDO-ICS 2009), USAID (2011), Bolashak (2013), "Best University Teacher" (2015), winner of the Springer Nature Prize "Awards TOP of the Most Published Authors and Organizations from Central Asian Countries" in the nomination "Biological Sciences and Biomedicine" (2017) ), holder of the grant of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2018), holder of the Grand Prix nomination "The Best Teacher of the Year-2018" (Astana).
We wish fruitful work and success to the Institute of Applied Chemistry!
