ENU now has its first 1C Kazakhstan R&D Center
The first regional 1C Kazakhstan R&D center was opened at the Faculty of Information Technology of the Eurasian National University within the framework of a memorandum between the University, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 1C Kazakhstan Company. The opening was timed to coincide with the university’s 30th anniversary.
The center will train IT specialists, conduct scientific research using artificial intelligence technologies in the field of economics and business, launch educational programs, advanced training courses, practical seminars and mentoring sessions.
Here, students will be able to put their knowledge into practice on modern equipment, receive support from technology startups, and companies and government organizations will be able to test and implement applied solutions faster.
In the coming months, the center will launch professional development programs, recruit student project teams, and begin pilot studies with industrial enterprises and government organizations.
The opening ceremony was attended by ENU teachers and students, representatives of 1C Kazakhstan, as well as rectors of Kazakhstani universities.
Ardak Beisenbai, Vice-Rector for Academic Development of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, noted that the 1C Kazakhstan R&D Center will become a space where innovations, solutions and startups are born.
"The R&D center will form an ecosystem where business, university and youth come together for a common cause. It will give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the real digital economy from the very first steps. Students will be able to participate in joint projects, develop startups and bring ideas to the market. In this way, we strengthen the university's mission as a national driver of innovation. It is important that cooperation with 1C Kazakhstan is not limited to individual courses or programs. This is a strategic partnership," Ardak Beisenbai said.
Galiya Kereibayeva, Head of the 1C Kazakhstan Training Center, stressed that graduates of the Eurasian National University successfully work at the company and highlighted the importance of the center:
"The R&D center is a step towards further realization of students' knowledge and projects for presentation on the Kazakhstani market. We believe that these projects will be in demand. As a business, we are very interested in this. Our practitioners and experts will advise the students and provide methodological assistance. Big projects are waiting for us," the speaker said.
Galiya Kereibayeva added that within the framework of the memorandum between the company and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, 1C Kazakhstan is ready to help universities, open classrooms, improve the skills of teachers, and provide modern educational equipment.
In honor of the 30th anniversary of ENU and within the framework of the memorandum, 1C Kazakhstan presented Shakhmaran Seilov, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU, with a certificate for 15 computers for use in the educational process of the faculty.
"This is a very important event for our faculty. The opening of the 1C classroom and computer lab will allow students not only to gain theoretical knowledge, but also to immediately consolidate it in practice. For me, this is an opportunity to develop my own ideas and prepare for future professional activities," Yerzhan Ashirbek, a 3rd-year student at the Faculty of Information Technology said.
Within the framework of the event, the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, Alikhan Bokeikhan University, Karaganda Industrial University signed cooperation agreements with “InfoSoftProm” LLP (1C Kazakhstan) aimed at implementing joint educational and research initiatives.
