
The issues of introducing artificial intelligence and digitalization were discussed at ENU as part of the President's Address








A meeting was held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University between the Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Gulmira Bekmanova, and the university’s deans, department heads, and academic staff. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Astana-based universities: Kusayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute, Astana Medical University, Turan-Astana University, and Esil University.
The key points of the Address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed, with a focus on transforming Kazakhstan into a digital state within the next three years, the widespread implementation of artificial intelligence, full digitalization, and the development of a unified strategy «Digital Qazaqstan» to consolidate all initiatives in this domain.
During the meeting, Vice-Rector Gulmira Bekmanova presented an overview of the main elements of the President’s Address, provided an analysis of the current state of AI development globally and in Kazakhstan, and outlined the university’s priority directions for the near future.
Leila Sabitova, Director of the Department of Online Learning, spoke about the implementation of the “AI-Sana” program at ENU and noted that the university is successfully fulfilling the Ministry’s tasks and is among the top five leading universities in this area.
In turn, Assel Omarbekova, Director of the Department of Digital Development, showcased AI-agent projects being developed at the university, including the “Inclusive Guide,” “AI Avatar,” and the “E-Curator” chatbot, and highlighted their potential for practical application.
The meeting was informative in nature and helped outline a list of activities to be carried out during Artificial Intelligence Week. For instance, the ENU AI Achievements Exhibition (ENU AI-Expo) is scheduled for September 30. The speakers encouraged faculty members to actively engage in upcoming initiatives, emphasizing the importance of each person’s contribution to the digital transformation process and to strengthening the university’s role in the advancement of AI in Kazakhstan.
