
Scientists of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Expand Scientific Cooperation

In the period from December 1 to December 7 of this year, the executors of the scientific project of program-oriented financing BR28713029 "Research of the social role of folk art in the formation of modern national identity: modernization and reconstruction of spiritual culture" – T.Kalenova, G.Abdrakhmanova, Z. Ibadullayeva, Zh.Toleubaev – made a working trip to Baku, in Bakikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan in order to collect data within the framework of the project. During the business trip, the main task was to study and analyze the social role of folk art in the formation of national identity.
The main purpose of the scientific trip is to conduct research at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Institute of History and Ethnology, establish scientific relations with them, conduct research and collect materials in museums and library collections in Baku.
A meeting was held with the Director General of the Bakikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Kerim Shukurov. K.Shukurov spoke about the activities of the Institute, outlined the main directions and priorities in scientific research. Following the meeting, new areas of scientific cooperation were identified and plans for the implementation of joint research projects between the two fraternal countries were developed in the future.
The research work continued in the Department of Historical Ethnology of the Institute. The head of the department, Ilkhama, Mammadova organized a meeting with the staff of the department and introduced the literature published by the leading scientists of the Department of Historical Ethnology. As part of the research work, a survey was conducted among the staff of the department on the topic of the scientific project.
Mr. Oruj Guliyev, Deputy Director of the Library for Digitization, Innovation and Electronic Services, Doctor of Historical Sciences, received scientists from the Eurasian University at the Central Scientific Library (MEK) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (AMEA). The Central Scientific Library plays an important role in the scientific life of the country, providing access to funds and scientific resources. The total amount of funds is about 2 million copies of documents in various scientific fields. The library's literature is available in more than 50 languages, including Azerbaijani, Russian and Western European languages.
During the meeting, Oruj Guliyev spoke about the history of the Central Scientific Library, its extensive collection, digitization opportunities and modern conditions created for readers. A detailed overview of the library's activities was provided, complete information was obtained about its various departments and valuable publications stored in it. The scientists conducted research work at the Diplomatic Fund, the Fund of Rare Manuscripts and the Fund of Literature in Foreign Languages. Following the meeting, proposals were put forward on future areas of cooperation.
The researchers also worked with the book collection of the library of the Institute of History and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. Work was carried out on the collection, systematization and analysis of information data on folk art, customs and traditions. Information data and bibliographic references on folk art and the ethnocultural heritage of the region were recorded.
In addition, the members of the research group conducted research in the largest library of Azerbaijan, the M.F. Akhundov National Library of Azerbaijan, and also visited the Azerbaijan National Historical Museum, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.
