ENU presented its experience of educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and China

The presentation of the fifth volume of the book "On Public Administration" by President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping took place in Astana. The event was organized by the Press Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Department for the Publication and Dissemination of Literature in Foreign Languages of China and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The new edition brings together Xi Jinping's key views on public administration, country modernization, international cooperation, global development, and shared prosperity.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of government agencies of Kazakhstan and China, the diplomatic corps, the expert community, and higher educational institutions of the two countries. The participants noted that the book contributes to strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China, developing humanitarian ties and expanding cooperation within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative.

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University was represented at the event by Vice Rector for Digitalization Gulmira Bekmanova. She spoke about the practical results of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of higher education and training of engineering personnel.

According to her, today the interaction between the two countries goes far beyond good-neighborly relations and economic partnership. Common tasks in the field of modernization, human capital development, the introduction of modern technologies and the training of new generation specialists are becoming a solid foundation for further expansion of cooperation in education and science.

In her speech, Vice-Rector paid special attention to the Lu Ban workshop project, which is being implemented within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative.

"For Kazakhstan, Lu Ban workshop is not just a modern training ground. It is a space where students master advanced technologies, gain practical skills, work on solving real-world production tasks, and form engineering thinking. The project unites education, science and production, creating conditions for the training of in-demand specialists of a new generation," Gulmira Bekmanova emphasized.

She also noted that ENU, together with the Tianjin Vocational Institute, is implementing a project to create the second Lu Ban workshop in Kazakhstan. The initiative was launched in 2024: during the events of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding, and later in Tianjin signed an agreement on the construction and further operation of an educational center.

According to the participants of the meeting, the implementation of the project will be an important contribution to the development of educational, scientific and technological cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, the training of highly qualified engineering personnel and the formation of a modern innovation ecosystem.

The presentation ended with an expert discussion on simultaneous interpretation into Chinese, Kazakh and Russian, as well as a ceremony of handing over books to the participants of the event.
