
Cooperation with ABEEK: ENU strengthens its work in the field of international accreditation

The delegation of ABEEK (Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea), one of the leading international organizations in the field of accreditation of engineering education, visited The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
The delegation included ABEEK President Woo-Seung Kim, Director of the organization's secretariat Ahn Hae-Ryong, and Chairman of the International Relations Committee Yangbok Joo.
The guests were greeted by ENU’s Acting Rector Ardak Beisenbai. In his speech, he noted the importance of the delegation's visit for the university.
"We highly appreciate the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of ABEEK, discuss modern approaches to the development of engineering education and share international experience in improving educational programs. Of particular interest to us are the experience of the Republic of Korea and ABEEK's activities in developing engineering education in accordance with international standards. I am confident that today's meeting will lay a solid foundation for a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership," Ardak Beisenbai said.
ENU’s Acting Rector also stressed that the university pays priority attention to the development of research activities, international cooperation and modern educational technologies, and international experience in improving engineering education is of particular importance to the university.
In turn, ABEEK President Woo-Seung Kim expressed confidence that the meeting would bring bilateral cooperation to a new level.
"I am confident that today's meeting will open a new stage of bilateral partnership. Scientific research at universities should not be limited to academic results only, but should bring real benefits to society and the economy. The close relationship between science, education and production contributes to improving the quality of engineering education and gives impetus to the development of innovation," the speaker noted.
Then Woo-Seung Kim made a presentation on "From the Laboratory to the Market," in which he spoke about the importance of developing cooperation between universities and the manufacturing sector, commercializing scientific research and forming an innovation ecosystem. He also presented the experience of Hanyang University and shared effective models for integrating science and production.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of academic mobility, the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects, the passage of international accreditation, as well as the expansion of cooperation between the university and the manufacturing sector.
