More than 350 undergraduates study at Nankai University according to ENU educational programs

The delegation of The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University paid a visit to Nankai University (China). During the meeting with the leadership of the Chinese university, issues of implementing a joint master's degree program and further cooperation were discussed.

Notably, The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Nankai University are developing joint master's degree programs in economics and international business.

In 2026, 359 undergraduates are studying in the Economics and International Business and Strategic Trade Control programs. Of these, 179 students enrolled in 2025 continue their studies in the second year, and 180 more have become new participants in the programs.

"The program is developing successfully: the first stream of undergraduates has already completed the first year of study, and this year we are accepting the second set. This is an important result of the joint work of the two universities and confirmation of the relevance of the program.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the quality of education, the interaction of teachers and supervisors, as well as the preparation of undergraduates for writing and defending dissertations. I am confident that our joint work will continue and open up new opportunities for the implementation of educational and scientific projects," Abzal Taltenov, ENU’s Acting Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization said.

The training is implemented in an international academic format. Teachers and researchers from ENU and Nankai University participate in the educational process, which allows combining academic approaches and practical experience from the two countries.

Teachers of ENU’s Graduate School of Economics and Tourism conduct specialized classes, provide scientific guidance to undergraduates and participate in supporting research projects. This format gives students the opportunity not only to acquire fundamental knowledge, but also to work on relevant scientific and applied tasks.

Upon completion of their studies, graduates receive an ENU diploma, and the acquired knowledge and international experience open up broad career prospects for them. They will be able to work in government agencies, international and national companies, the financial sector, logistics and export-import structures, analytical centers, research organizations and higher education institutions.

"Today we are welcoming the second group of undergraduates. During the first academic year, we gained good experience and saw what needs to be paid special attention to. Now our common task is to use this experience, improve the program and create the necessary conditions for the successful education of our undergraduates," Aida Zhagyparova, Director of ENU’s Center for International Scientific and Educational Cooperation said.
