16 ENU Doctoral Students Receive PhD Diplomas

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a ceremony to award PhD diplomas. This year, 16 doctoral students successfully defended their doctoral dissertations, completing an important stage of their academic and research careers.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Directors, faculty members, academic supervisors, members of dissertation councils, and doctoral students of the university.
Opening the ceremony, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov congratulated the young researchers on earning their doctoral degrees and noted that their new academic status brings new professional opportunities as well as greater responsibility.
“Dear colleagues! Until today, we referred to you as school students, university students, researchers, and applicants. As of today, your status has changed. Having earned a PhD degree and joined the academic community, you become our colleagues. On the one hand, this is a great distinction, and on the other, it is a great responsibility,” Rector said.
The doctoral graduates include researchers who worked on projects in political science, computer science, analytical economics, economics, sociology, tourism, regional studies, philology, Kazakh language and literature, and philosophy.
Darkhan Mynbay, Chairman of the ENU Board of Directors, also congratulated the new PhD holders. He emphasized the importance of an academic career and encouraged the young researchers to continue their work and contribute to the development of science in Kazakhstan.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate the main heroes of this evening — the PhD graduates — on this remarkable achievement! Taking the path of science is a great responsibility. Some of you have already distinguished yourselves through your research, while others will continue their work in this field. I wish all of you to remain committed to science and contribute to its development,” Darkhan Mynbay said.
During the ceremony, diplomas were presented to the doctoral graduates. Special words of appreciation were expressed to academic supervisors, faculty members, and members of dissertation councils who made a significant contribution to the training and development of young researchers.
