The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a meeting focused on career guidance for students and young professionals, employment opportunities, and entry into public service.
The event was attended by Yerlan Zhussipov, Head of the Employment and Social Protection Department of Astana; Olzhas Omar, Director of the Astana Akimat’s Labour Mobility Centre; Amanbol Amangeldin, Director of the Career Centre for the Almaty District; and Saniya Zholdybayeva, a specialist of the Labour Mobility Centre.
According to Gulnur Smagulova, Head of ENU’s Career and Business Partnership Office, one of the university’s key priorities is to prepare competitive graduates whose skills are in demand in the labour market.
“One of the university’s main objectives is not only to provide students with a high-quality education but also to create the conditions they need to prepare for their professional careers. We will continue to strengthen our cooperation with government agencies and employers in this area,” she noted.
Yerlan Zhussipov, Head of Astana’s Employment and Social Protection Department, emphasized that public service offers young people a wide range of opportunities for professional development and for applying their knowledge and abilities in service to the country.
“The purpose of today’s meeting is to provide students with detailed information about the process of entering public service, the stages of competitive selection, and the applicable requirements. Encouraging young people’s interest in public service, helping them realize their professional potential, and providing career guidance are among our key priorities,” he said.
Participants received information about current labour market opportunities, job search methods, career planning, and government programmes designed to support youth employment.
Particular attention was given to the process of entering public service, the requirements for civil servants, the stages of recruitment for vacant positions, and the procedures for participating in competitive selection. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed answers from the specialists.
Meetings of this kind help young people develop their professional potential, adapt to labour market requirements, and make informed decisions when planning their future careers.
