ENU Strengthens Partnership with Croatia’s Leading University

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb. The delegation was led by Ana Drandić, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation.
The meeting was opened by Lyazzat Tolegenkyzy, ENU Vice-Rector for Social and Infrastructure Development, who highlighted the importance of international partnerships in strengthening the university’s research and educational potential.
“ENU is one of the universities with extensive opportunities for developing international cooperation. We currently implement academic mobility programmes, research projects, and internships for students and young researchers. A foundation for cooperation between our universities has already been established, including through the Erasmus+ programme. We hope that today’s meeting will further strengthen our bilateral ties and expand academic exchange,” Vice-Rector noted.
The discussions focused particularly on opportunities for cooperation in engineering, digital technologies, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
In turn, Ana Drandić presented the research and innovation potential of her faculty.
“Our faculty has considerable potential for advancing research and innovation. Our work covers areas such as electronics and computer engineering, robotics, microchip design, information technology, and cyber-physical systems. We also actively participate in European research projects, including those under the Horizon Europe programme. I believe that cooperation with ENU could begin with academic mobility and the establishment of direct contacts between research groups. Over time, this partnership could develop into joint projects and the creation of international research consortia,” she said.
An important area of cooperation identified during the meeting was the exchange of expertise in engineering and digital technologies. The participation of ENU representatives responsible for international cooperation, digital sciences and artificial intelligence, as well as transport and energy, enabled the participants to discuss joint initiatives in these fields.
ENU’s cooperation with higher education institutions and research organizations in Croatia continues to develop in academic mobility, scientific research, and doctoral training. The meeting with the University of Zagreb opened up new opportunities to strengthen these ties, facilitate knowledge exchange among faculty members and researchers, and advance joint research projects.
